CARDIFF GIANT aka LE GÉANT DE CARDIFF

Le Géant de Cardiff a été découvert en octobre 1869 par des ouvriers qui creusaient un puit dans Cardiff, New York. Il s'avéra avoir été créé de toute pièces et enfoui dans le sol un an plus tôt par un certain George Hull, qui voulait démontrer l'absurdité de certaines croyances. The Cardiff Giant was uncovered on October 16, 1869, by workers digging a well in Cardiff, New York. Both it and an unauthorized copy made by P.T. Barnum are still being displayed. It was an elaborate hoax, the creation of George Hull, an atheist who wanted to prove that some people were ready to believe anything.
