ALKALI LAKE MONSTER aka WALGREN LAKE MONSTER aka GIGANTICUS BRUTERVIOU

Le monstre du Lac Alkali, devenu Walgren, a été aperçu au début des années 1920 dans ce petit coin du Nebraska. Dix ans plus tard plus personne ne le voit et on suppose qu'il s'agissait d'un canular pour mousser les ventes du  journal local. Toujours est-il que la légende est exploitée encore aujourd'hui. De haut en bas: en 1962 il fait la couverture du magazine Outdoor Nebraska; une photo truquée; l'interprétation d'un artiste; son vedettariat dans la serie animée The Secret Saturdays et deux gilets commémorant son statut de célébrité. Alkali Lake, known now as Walgren Lake, is located in Northwestern Nebraska. It's the reputed home of the Alkali Lake Monster which is described as a 40 foot long alligator like creature with rough, grayish brown skin and a horn like appendage. Reports of the Alkali Lake Monster started in August of 1921, and the first written account of the monster appeared in a 1922 printing of the Hay Springs News. But reports, which are now presumed to be fake news to boost the local journal, have stopped after the 1920's.
